Ahem. Yes. At 1:00 today, ten minutes ago, after having undertaken an arduous engine rebuild since just about june last year, I started the engine- fifth attempt but after the first start she started every time- and drove 100 yards down the driveway!

She lives!
Today my new screw-on filter arrived in the post. I fitted the whole job, since I had a bowl filter before, you know, new studs and all. Roadworthy and not leaking for the first time in several months, so I tried to start her! Sounds so healthy too... Way nicer than before!
Most satisfying thing ever. Ever.
Just thought I'd vent here. I'm done now!

Well, I deformed the original bowl and couldn't find another at short notice... I'm impatient! Hey, at 16 it's not like I'm unable to scamper under the car every now and then- I was perfectly fine with the bowl...

Nope, only new interior bits, new paint, new chrome, door and (I suspect) sill welding and maybe new brakes...

(Nervous laugh)
Ah well. That's what I'm doing this for anyway.

Maybe I'm a masochist, but hey...
