Van body rear valance structure

I'm at the stage where I need to repair the rear of the van body. I've bought an inner and outer valance. However the structure is that rotten around there I'm not sure how it all attaches/welds together correctly. It also needs the rear light panels replacing. Another question, the body originally had single lights, and I'm fitting twin light panels as the body is of a much early moggie. Had a quick look and it looks like the topmost light won't go through the aperture due to a small closing panel behind it which blocks the depth behind the light. Only one side has this panel(other side might have rotted away) so can it be safetly removed.
Has anyone got some pictures they could post up, or email me so i can see how it all goes together. I'm also interested in pictures of the bottom of the rear body pillars as these are all rotten aswell.
Thanks in advance.

There SHOULD be an upright panel behind the rear lights to stop the load bashing them. They've vanished on most - think I have pick-up sides which still have them, can (after a lot of work getting them out) take pics if needed

There are no closing panels at all behind the lights, but remember its an early single light body, so I think the rear light is below the floor level anyway.
Any pics at all would be appreciated.

Good point. I can only do pics of the twin light model, I'm afraid, and I don't think that'll be today

Anytimes fine, its being modded to a twinlight, so it would be good to see what it should look like.

I can get pics of both types if you're still stuck. On he single light versions, there's a small triangular gusset piece between the floor and the upright box section. On a twin light version, this panle has a round hole in it (about 1.5") for the end of the light unit to go through. Then there is a sort of half pyramid cover panel screwed over this on the inside to protect the wires going into the indicator. The indicator wires then go straight down through the floor via a hole and grommet.
You will either need to make a 1.5" hole in the gusset piece, or fit a new one.
You could just remove it or leave it out, but its there for a reason, to stiffen up the back corner.
