Can anyone help me out on this?

I need to transport a car about 70 miles from Devon to Dorset.

Do any members run a recovery business or can anyone recommend someone, preferably cheap! I'm not fussed whether its a fully insured business or some chap with a truck that'll do it 'unofficially' for cash.

What part of Devon to what part of Dorset? What is the car you need to move?

Car = Mk3 Escort Estate - it is drivable too.

Start = Willand, near Cullompton.

End = Weymouth, South Dorset.

Thanks

Book it in for an MOT in weymouth, insure it for the road and drive it to the MOT appointment.
All legal ish.

IExcept the MOT has to be within "reasonable distance" and I'm not sure that if you got stopped towards the beginning of the journey PC plod would be too pleased

There's nothing in the law that says it has to be within a "reasonable distance".

I once had a company which was due an MOT when the lease finished. The company that picked it up just booked it in for an MOT near their final destination. The destination was a car auction in Bristol and the car was in Edinburgh!

All sorted now, though it took 2 hours to get the headlights working on the Land Rover for the drive back up to Worcestershire with the help of a very nice man.... Was a long day was that one!
