Assuming they are standard seats, you want four plates, four clamps, and eight bolts. You may be able to get a second hand set for less if you post a wanted ad on here.

well i did buy it as a project. and trying to drive it proves very difficult. there are holes in the floor for the bolts and plates i guess but none as the panel goes down at an angle do they tilt forward

Yes, see my earlier reply. There's two clamps, two plates, and four bolts per seat.

Orkney when I used my 66 pick-up the previous owner never bolted them down and neither did I as the floor was just a flat sheet of metal!! All I had to do go slowly round corners! lol

no I used the brakes and I moved forward together with the seat! well eventually after about 6months I drilled two holes and bolted mine but the passengers still suffered falling of the seat!

Aaah, Interesting. I've seen the seats that hinge forward from the floor but my moggy has seats on runners and the backs hinge forwards. Mine's a 69 and i'd kinda assumed they were a later type.

Is this not the case?

Cheers,

Steve

Are these standard seats Steve, maybe yours was an ex-disabled car? as these had the seats on runners

Interesting. Would they have been a morris alteration then? Thinking about it though i did think the blocks of wood they're bolted through were odd.

Blocks of wood suggest a previous owner may have taken them from a different car. If you post some pictures, somebody may be able to identify them.

Finally had a spare time and good weather at the same time for long enough to get photos of one of these seats.

Anyone recognise this?

Those certainly are not standard. Two door cars seats tilt forward to allow the back seat passengers to exit but we have a 1969/70 car and it does not have those. They do look like the ones I have heard were fitted for a disabled person as they slide very easily and quite a way back by the look thus helping them get out. If you put a post on the Ex Government section someone may be able to help more. Some Moggies were fitted out by the Government and allocated as Disabled Cars.

I've a '69 four door, and they're only bolted at the front, so they hinge forwards. as Alex says, with two straps and four bolts.

Is that normal?

I like the look of the reclining seats though.

They don't actually recline sadly, the back just folds forward to let people climb in the back of the car.
