Which Colour

I will probably be giving the Traveller a respray in the not too distant future.

The current colour is Trafalgar Blue

I've always likes Polychromatic Blue which is a Bentley Colour

So...Should I leave it as is? Or go the non standard colour route.

Fenchurch is Royale Blue and I think it looks much nicer than Trafalgar Blue. Your second picture actually looks a lot like the mock-up I did beforehand in a graphics program, but in reality it's much darker.

If you like the colour, go for it! I think it looks great.

FWIW MT youd be a heathen to change it - although a Tartan trav would be something else.... also be a time and money eater to do.
Swap you with scabby for 12 months if you like then you would actually need to respray your super clean machine :x

Have a look at VW Aqua Blue, its the colour we sprayed 'Moose' the traveller owned by Richard Hobbis who runs the Minor Mania .com website.
Look under 'adventures of a traveller'

Nice colour, shame about the wheels! ;)

Thanks for the input folks, been pondering this one for a while and just couldn't make my mind up. Jury thinks stick with Trafalgar Blue to keep some originality in the car.

Jonathon, that VW Blue Traveller is brilliant, but it did make me realise, how 'custom' my car would look with a different paintjob. I think people would be expecting to find a V8 under the bonnet, with a paintjob like that :D

Only gamble now, is can I get the right shade of Trafalgar Blue, as there are two distinct shades!

Orkney, love the Tartan Idea, but after seeing the work involved when my Dad painted two double decker buses Tartan for S&N brewers, I think I'll pass :D

Thanks for the link Alex, I must learn how to use the computer better. I have some nice pics of our latest traveller sprayed in another VW colour 'Black voilet' this features the same wheels as Moose but colour coded. I think the colour is stunning as it looks deeeeeeeeeeeeeep black until the sun strikes a radius then it gains a violet tint changing to near silver on a tight radius. I can email to someone if you would like to see it. :D :D

You may not get the choice now, in my experience there is just one code, and it seems that the shade that appears to have a green hint to it, is not the one you get.

If you contact your paint store and tell them which traf blue it is then they will mix either. Or take in a glove box lid or similar sized panel and get them to colour match it, starting with the original traf blue code.

Perhaps I should have been more assertive.

We found this (we've got 2 trafalgar blue cars) both different colours.
Theres BU 37 (1969) and BU37 (1971) the latter is too pale for the Morris Minor and was used for the Morris 1100.

I've got the glovebox lid which hasn't faded, so will get the match from that I hope. Will be waiting for warm days of summer though, then the air will be blue :D
