If you can tell me what is hiding in in the trees here:
50°53'47.59"N 1°20'46.19"W
Google earth is invaluable here.

I hate to correct you all, but it's quite obviously the missing link. Or maybe an abandoned UFO.
But seriously, how are you seeing things? Where exactly are we looking? I can't resolve any shapes out of the trees. I could just be useless at this stuff. Is it in the lower or upper half of the wood? Or is it that thing in someone's back garden? If so, tank is more accurate, it's about the size of the sheds which is a little large for a Morris...

Incidentally what possessed you to look there? And that closely? Do you regularly search for stuff like that? If so, is it effective? A lot of questions, I know, but I'm always tempted to try it...

In the photo (it's clearer in google earth for some reason) in the top left there is a diagonal line. Just below and to the right of this is a grey-blue shape (don't confuse this with the 'snow' effect in the same bunch of trees.
I know what it is cos a work colleague lives about 5 yards away.
Oh and it's not moggy related - hence off topic - but it is mechanical.

A stealth fighter?
Here is a clearer pic of the area, but without the anomaly.

Your friend's new swimming pool? Tony Robinson and the Time Team? (If they're still going)...
All very mysterious... Is it Area 52, the Brit experimental aircraft design studio? The Americans might have a hangar in the desert, but ours is better hidden... And that's why the picture's so grainy!

Ok if you want to make it out you're going to have to put the the original GR into google earth.
As for revealing, well, I so want to show somebody in SADMOG for real first so I'll probably let you know on Friday.
Suffice to say the amazing this is that it's been there sooooo long, undisturbed, probably intact, unnoticed by most and as I say, hemmed in by trees that must have grown up around it.
Keep guessing

FRIDAY!!!!!

lol
Is it on private land?? It looks like a footpath goes past it.
As for people looking at it use badfelafel's advice and use the msn live map. Click on 'Aerial' and you get a much clearer view!
Unfotunatly in the 'Birdseye view' it is covered by the trees. Shame because that is amazing quality!

Hah, you beat me to it. I was about to say it looks like a plane if you zoom the Google map out a couple of steps.

Got it! I really have this time, I'm serious. It's a DeHavilland Vampire, or one of the related DeHavilland jets of the era. Unless I'm very much mistaken, the twin booms are clear and the large wing... in the rear centre of which, presumably, remains a jet engine, as it was an early jet! Wow! What a restoration project
