Hi all, just a question actually 2! I'm fitting a new loom to my van

1) has anyone had colour not matching the diagrams?

2) the new loom came with 4 speedo holders, I said %^& 2 less speedo holders ie. no holders for the panel light, so I check the old loom and that's worse it has just 3 holders! So should the panel light holders be just 2 holders going to the panel light switch and then just 1 wire going from the panel light switch to somewhere and the holders are separate from the loom? Thanks

I've had 4 cars of different ages and none have totally concurred with the wiring diagram(s)

well my biggest problem is about the holders that do the panel light where did these end up? how are these wired?

I'm not understanding your word 'holders' - do you mean the bulb holders ? In which case these just plug into the holes in the speedo back panel.

sorry for not being clearyes im refering to those, yes I know these plug into the speedo, the problem is with the loom only 3 came of these and even the old loom has just 3, ign, high beam and oil pres shouldnt there be 2 more for lighting the speedo? if so anyone knows how are these wired? Thanks

the panel lights are seperate to the looms you can buy
they go from the dash switch to the panel light holders via the dash switch

Thanks Dennis that's what I needed to know! in fact this morning I went looking where the loom was stored and found the two bulb holders and wires on the bottom of the box. Thanks

Yes - that's it - so you do have the 3 warning lights ok - and as Dennis has pointed out the illumination units are just plug-in items.

yes thanks bmc I actually have 4 warning lights on the speedo but I assume the other amber one is for filter blocked and its blanked by a grommet

That's it - but it can be used as handy reversing light warning light - or for whatever warning you like !

True! that's a good idea! I'm sure I'll find a use to it!
