Spraying

Post by whenisayjump »

This may seem a silly question, but, I think I read that minors use a old type of paint... cellulose ?

Could a modern body shop spray one? ...or in fact could you have one sprayed the original colour with modern paints?

Just curious

Some minors were painted with Synobol which IIRC is not compatible with Cellulose.

The options today for DIY are Cellulose and Enamel paints.
For 2 pack paint it needs to be done by pros with the special gear due to toxic fumes (Lethal)

Some people think 2 pack looks to much like a plastic finish, and I agree, but it is very hard wearing compaired to cellulose.

When you say DIY do you mean those rattle cans you can buy from auto factors as opposed to two pack the body shop people do ?

Yours looks very shiny MoggyTech, is that just some TCut or a respray ? Or neither, and I'm a tuppence, lol.

Most DIY paint jobs are done with compressor and spray gun, or the newer HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) electric spray guns.
