Well, the beast goes off to Roy's Welding in Dorset on Sunday. New door pillar cover, flitch and flitch extension. Plus a small wheelarch repair. Should get it back MOT'd & roadworthy in March.
As I've got two replacement wings and a small spray gun & compressor, I'm going to spray them myself-anyone know where I can get cellulose Almond Green mixed up? Halfords are a waste of time.
cheers,
Neil

Some Halfords still do it - but expensive. In theory celly paint is no longer to be sold - but seemingly classic cars are an exception. You could try Brown Brothers or just search on ebay - several Cos selling on there and will mix as you wish.

Refinish systems Yeovil. unit 5 watercombe park, lynx trading estate,
if your taking the car to Dorset then call in to Yeovil on your way back. I'm sure they still sell celleulose, I haven't bought any for a while due to a lack of projects. Celle can still be sold, I understand from a friend the rules had a flaw.
I've heard of Roys welding, but no idea where it is.

Roy's welding is in East Knoyle, just off the A350, about 5 miles south of the A303 junction.

Thanks for the PM.
He's one chap I'll bare in mind. I've a mate who'll do the job very cheaply and to a high standard but he hasnt a clue about minors so will probable end up welding the covers shut and all sorts.

It's back. As usual Roy has done an excellent job, including applying primer & waxoyl. I'll post some photos in the next few days.
It passed its MOT as well though not without a new pair of track rod ends. The old ones were put on by me in 1990 and were the sealed for life type without greasepoints. To be fair they were the next job on the list of mechanical things to do. Next jobs are respray the grille, bumper & wings, and fit the loading bay covering.
cheers, Neil
