hi guys, i am looking into fitting a different heater to the car, and as i have a supra one kicking around the house, i have found out that they are very close to being the same size. only thing is, im not too sure how to take the heater fan out. does it come out the front? i notice there are clips etc...its just i want to do a proper size test without having to remove the heater matrix(water in the cab is not something i am interested in!) please help me...

If you really want a better fan - use a Mini one - it fits the casing.
Edit - ahhh, VVVVVV - sorry, yes - now I see the early heater casing !!

Only the later heater casing though, that Moggie has the earlier round type which is rather different.

My Landy had a fan that was inline in the heater hose. I often wondered if it would look ok under the bonnet - if it were to be available that is.

Yes, it's fairly obvious once you've got it on the bench. The big spring clips hold the plastic front onto the matrix, and there are some screws that hold the motor on. I'm not sure you'll be able to do it without disconnecting the hoses and removing it from the car.
