hi everyone changed the wheel bearings yesterday with help from fread, the right hand side went easily the left was a pig. took the nut off and found that a third of the threads were missing.got a new nut.then the baring did not seem straight got it straight. then the plastic bits that hold the bearings in place were coming away sorted that, eventually got them in. Tthen tapped the baring in a bit more and they seem ok. I did not realise that there is no room for error at all. Its a good job i had guidance from fred.

Front or rear ? Not usually a problem - but yes they do need to go in square!

Hmm - usually not difficult - and also normally very reliable - don't think I have ever changed fronts although have spare hubs ready if required - but you have it sorted now anyway ? LH hub has left hand thread of course - and the nut needs to be up good and tight - this is not a car where where the nut is left slack.

Yup. Pretty fool proof really. Knock the old ones out and push the new ones in. As long as they go in 'straight' its not too difficult.
Wose that happens is the plastic seals go hard and put up a fight.
