So is it free tax as a historic vehicle or is it free tax as a police car?

I remember these from my late teens when I had motor bikes. We had a few laughs back in those days, playing cat and mouse  Our local Bobby in Edinburgh used to drive one, knickname 'Smiler', a great guy. The bike 'gang' would often meet in the carpark behind my parents house, and if he passed by, he would always stop for a chat, while at the same time checking out tax discs and tyres :D

Oh happy days...

Shame they dont run 1800vvc engines in them and use them as effective 'street sleeper' police.

Nova boy speeds past laughing - until the Minor pulls him over at 110.
What would Macgyver do..?

He states in that report 'Even those who aren't speeding slow down to have a look'
Is going slower and having a nosey at an attraction on the other side of the road really that much safer than going faster and watching whats on the road in front of you?

I would rather see somebody braking in front of me than the aftermath of somebody that didnt
