I haven't used my morris for around 6 weeks, now she wont start and there is no ticking coming from the fuel pump. On inspection I have found petrol in the pump itself but none in the float chamber. I'm not sure what else to try, will a new pump be needed? :-? Any help gratefully recieved.

Does it 'tick' when turned on? If it is receiving power and not 'ticking' the points could be dirty and in need of a clean.
Try tapping the pump body and/or flicking the points to see if it starts

In case you do not know, the points are found under the plastic end cap on the pump once you have removed the terminal nut. The blade with the terminal on it slides out when the screw is loosened, you do not have to unscrew it completely.

Usually a sharp thump gets it going - but you can't rely on it now until you clean the points.

up and running!
