Ive got the rectangle version of that i think - its fitted (by someone previous) to the rear upright edge of the quarterlight window.
Bloody stupid thing it is - open the window and lose line of vision in the mirror

Mine is also fitted to the straight edge of the Quarterlight - directly onto the glass and like Orkney, you can't use it when the QL is actually open.
They are supposed to attach to the upright runner of the main window but every time I've tried they simply come off after a few days - you can't tighten it enough as when you try it sort of slides the whole clamp off the curved edge.
I still find mine useful attached to the QL though, but intend in future to bolt a proper mirror to the stainless steel triangle behind the QL as some others have done.

The one i have has from best i can make out a couple of corroded allen screws holding it on - hence i cant move it, it'll come off once but be wrecked.

I cut off part of the 'U' section of the mirrors clamp you are all taking about and silver soldered the exposed flat face of the clamp to the stainless steel triangle finisher in front of the quarter light, work sok fo me (and it shouldn't come off!)
I thought that if I bolted/screwed it on I would have trouble sliding it over the frame and into position.
