Well, I finally saw the pictures of the pickup... all I can say is that it will not be sitting in my drive anytime soon!
As you can see, it would take a huge amount of work, much more than I want to give to a project right now. The only good thing about the pickup is that it is probable rust free, coming from the dry US Southwest.
So, thank you all for the advice, and I will see you next time I find something!
