Lidl are selling an electric scraper this week (Jan http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages ... .index.ar2).
Has anyone tried such a scraper (rather than just an electric (triangular) mouse sander for example) to clean off the wood of old varnish/crud?
Or would it be too vicious on the wood surface? If it was not too vicious it could be easier and quicker than having to constantly change sandpaper on the mouse sander perhaps?

I have a titanium bladed Sandvic scraper that I use on the boat - it is awesome. You can change the blade but I dont think I have in 7 years. But yes, the Scarsten scraper is excellent

Think with those electric ones you might have to be wary that it didnt catch and put a dent in the wood - take a lot longer to sand out a 1mm deep dent after using that than using an eco stripper & finishing by hand.
