Hi All,
does anyone know of any spray painters in the West Lothian region (or thereabouts) who is happy to paint a pre-prepped car?
My garage is cold and wet and the car is in primer so I want to get a top coat on ASAP!!!
thanks
Rupert

There's a decent coachworks in Addiewell that spray classics, or at least used to last time I checked.

You should get some kind of paint on it asap - even spray cans - because primer is porous and doesn't keep the moisture away from the steel!

Excellent point, and another good reason to apply epoxy primer direct to bare metal, before the standard primer. You really want to get the gripper coat on within an hour of the primer drying. They do this in California paint shops, and they have much kinder weather than we do! My garage humidity gauge has been sitting above 70% for weeks, and that's with a dehumidifier going full tilt

what's the forecast for tomorrow?!?
I've still got 2 doors, the boot lid, offside rear wing and the offside gutter and a,b,and c pillars to do, but once the main shell is all done I'll be happy.
There are quite a few runs and the odd bit of dust but I did it myself and I'm soooo pleased!

Well done! And the 'Scottish Morris Minors' website is looking good too - although very sparse. Any idea when the Minor Rally is this year - the site still refers to 2007 rally. And will it please NOT clash with any of the good Classic shows this year ?
