DOES ANYONE HAVE A DRAWING OR PICTURE OF THE PIPE USED ON A SIDEVALVE WITH WATER PUMP THAT GOES TO THE BOTTOM OUTLET?
I HAVE SEEN ONE AND BELIVE IT IS A METAL TUBE THAT GOES BETWEEN THE PUMP AND RAD ,(CONNECTED WITH RUBBER HOSES)AND IT HAS A HALF INCH SPUR OFF IT THAT GOES TO THE HEATER
I AM CONVERTING A SIDEVALVE THAT DID NOT HAVE A WATER PUMP AND AM JUST MISSING THIS BIT,IF ANYONE HAD ONE I COULD BORROW TO GET COPIED THAT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER!OR IF ANYONE HAD ONE TO SELL WOULD BE HAPPY TO BUY ONE,BUT I DONT SUPPOSE THAT IS VERY LIKELY.
MANY THANKS
DAVID SEYMOUR

That is correct. It is a brass tube that is connected by a rubber hose at each end. You used to be able to get a hose tail for the heater hose that clamped through a hole in the original rubber hose which came in the kit for fitting the Smiths external pump that ran off the back of the fan belt! :o

Hi, When I added the water pump to my vehicle I was never very happy at the double sets of hose clips involved and as a result I sourced a one piece rubber hose (QH Part No RH 916) which fitted lovely and does away with two potential leak points. I have the original brass pipe spare if you require it. I am in essex if you are interested.

There is a diagram of the installation on page S.3 of the BMC workshop manual
