Fancy a bench seat in your Minor Pickup? The rear seat from an
Austin Allegro will fit neatly. They can be found in various colours and have a drop down centre armrest. A good one shouldn't be hard to find as scrapyards are full of them. Expect to pay about £5-£10.
To make the seat fit, a slot has to be cut in the base to allow for hand brake movement. Cut out the front rail and necessary springs to give adequate clearance. It is best if the handbrake is adjusted to lock on the first two or three notches. The base will now sit on the transmission tunnel and sill tops. The front rail will need supporting with suitable wooden battens attached to the floor. To prevent the base from slipping forward, screw the front rail to the sills on either side.
The upright part only needs the two fixing pegs removed before it can be pushed into place between the door pillars.
Your insurers should be advised if you intend to seat three people, but this shouldn't be any problem.
N.B. An Allegro estate rear seat (with its covered back) may be just the ticket for a van -worth a look. Robin Beardmore

They might be in your area but Allegros are just as rare as Marinas & Itals are in my neck of the woods
