Afore I go and book, can anyone suggest if the following are going to fail the car:

1. Windscreen wash nozzles but no wash system (pipes, bottle,pump).
2. No boots on rear brake cylinders

Eyethankewe.

you need water on to the screen for mot , boots should be ok if missing

Well, shouldn't be, but agreed, they're not a fail, I don't think Windscreen washers are though. Innit nice being the 'board hardcore/saddos, on here at 23.30 on NYE?

the reason I ask is that some cars weren't fitted with washers. But then if you have the nozzles and nothing else then 'they don't work' and its a fail is it?

all minors wre fitted with washers tho werent they, any way it is a fail
if you have rear window washers and they dont work thats ok

Yep I didn't have indicators or belts when I went for MOT which was Ok.
But once you fit them they have to work.

They did check my washers even though they were a later mod to the car.

Only after 1961 I think, might have been standard on deluxe cars before then.

Peetee wont the SADMOG crew help you out, and yes its a fail and also an offence if stopped by the law if you are out of washer fluid as technically they are not working.

from what i remember any car that does not have an opening windscreen (old A7's etc) has to have washers fitted regardless of age.

I had to fit them to my 1949 Lowlight Tourer for the MOT. It was an Australian import and had been off the road for many years and having to drill that one hole for a twin jet really hurt as it was otherwise un-modified!

And the SADMOG crew are always here to assist where we can!

Yes I'm quite sure they would if I were to ask them.
However, in the hideous mess which is my shed, there lies buried an electric washer pump, somewhere........
Being of Yorkshire/Scottish parentage I'm not about to go out and buy another especially as the last time something went missing (for about 3 months) it showed up within minutes of the new one arriving.

Point taken Peetee, so just ask the Sadmog crew round and have a Hunt the Pump competition with a beer for the winner

Oh, and 12 people in a 6x8 shed is a bit too pally for most of us, to be honest.

You could raise a bigger shed between you...

That would be shed no. 5 tho' and I doubt Mrs Peetee would hold with that.
