Hi all, what goes in the round hole behind the battery? I m not sure but when I was very young I beleive my dad had like a large grommet in this hole on the pick-up but I'm not sure as I was very young and was the only one I've seen Thanks

During construction the bare shells were hung on a pole (a bit like a pig on a spit!) that passed throught the hole in the front bulkhead and the one behind the back seat. I was very sceptical of this story when I first heard about it as I didn't believe the vertical back panel was strong enough to take the weight of half the car. However, I now have a book with a photo to prove this.

You are correct Frank - there should be a large rubber bung in there - you cannot get them new - only 2nd hand.

Just pop rivet an aluminium plate over the hole!

I used some Blue Peter sticky back plastic and sound deadening foam on the inside.
