Sitting there last night unwinding after a tough day watching Red Dwarf - love the program ! Was a great Ace Rimmer episode.
Half way through the semi asleep dragon opens one eye and mumbles 'Oh he's not the same in this as in Coronation Street' Referring of course to Lister.
Well thanks vey much for ruining Red Dwarf then
I dont even watch flippin CS, but cant help but notice its on when she's watching it. Well thats it now, need to think up a suitable revenge - maybe find a video interview of the woman who does the bart simpson voice (something nobody should see) or failing that I'll just have to make her a car care products hamper for christmas
I mean really- ruining red dwarf - what was she thinking (or not as is usually the case) !!!

Is there still a late 60's almond green Traveller in Coronation street?? and is it the same exact car that appears in Eastenders and in Casualty. (My Girlfriend watches all these- I try to ignore them, or go out to the garage when they are on).
Somebody must be making a lot of money hiring their Minor out.

I remember him when he used to guest on 'Pebble Mill' as a streetwise working class poet.

Are we not confusing Lister and Rimmer here?

No. I don't watch Coronation Street myself but apparently Craig Charles is playing a taxi driver in it, and he did indeed start out as a street poet before playing Lister in Red Dwarf.
Ace Rimmer is the star of the aforementioned episode of Red Dwarf.

Which also features an almond green 60's traveller from time to time. (in one episode, it got stolen and windows were smashed

)

Yeah, I know - topic WAS about Rimmer, then folk started talking about Lister, that's all.

Aaaah, I loved Red Dwarf!
Anyone watch the Massive Machines Chris Barrie presents? It was on last night, was about tanks, very interesting! The man does seem to have an enthusiasm for mechanicals.

Well Chris Barrie is a classic car nut - furthermore you dont watch massive machines or Brittas and it ruin Red Dwarf - likewise repeats of scrapheap dont wreck it either - Sorry craig no matter what the financial reward you sold out !
Even that spell or 2 he did in clink on alledged this or that (and was innocent according to the courts) never really tarnished him or his role @s Lister - Coronation street, too much

Craig Charles still does stuff as a poet, I think. Certainly he was a few years ago - went to go and see him up at Brum Uni; he was *excellent*

He was cleared of all charges in court.

Well if he was doubt very much he would be on CS. From what i remember it was false accusation situation well the outcome of teh trial, but he was locked up until it was resolved.
Two sides to every story though i guess. Youd hardly think someone in a position of celebrity would need to resort to such things but then just look at the history of the convicted of rape ex heavyweight champion of the world !
Anyway he's sold out by going on CS, blame him? no not a chance, bug bucks i guess.
