, but I'd like to see you explain that combination if you ever get round to selling it.

What year does it say on the V5?

So is it possible to fit lowlight front panel/grille & wings to any Minor then? Can you fit a later grille & wings to a lowlight car?

Absolutley, its easy all you have to cut the inner wings to fit the 'headlight shrouds' and trim a bit of the valence to fit lowlight front wings.
Tha hardest lowlight bits to get where the Headlight rims NOS from America lucky e-bay find. going the other way is much simpler.
Its certanly been a ice breaker wherever I park up. Most people (non minorphiles) think its an actual production car. I even got one teary eyed old chap telling me how he and his long gone brother used to deliver pop around the streets of Manchester when they were younger. Didnt have the heart to put him right!

I think the earlier style grille looks better than the later versions. I have a Traveller-don't think there were any lowlight Travellers....

I,ve a picture of a home brewed conversion in a scrapyard close inspections shows it to have been built using a lowlight convertible of all things (I think looking at the top of the screen). I found the photo on the net so cant credit the photograper I,m afraid.

I thought the bonnets were slightly different between MM/S2's & 1000's?

They are, they are shaped along the back edge to suit the 'vee' of the windscreen.

That looks brilliant!
The lowlight front really suits the van shape.

what wing mirrors are you using and is it satin black?

Yep satin black! looks better in the photos than in the metal but it was my first attempt, going for the old patina look, the wing mirrors are a pair of bike mirrors I picked up at the Ellesmere port autojumble.

Considering the amount of time I have spent polishing paint finishes, I have to say I quite like that satin black look. something quite spooky about it, 'The Ghostly Snotter'

I like the polished hubcaps.
Are they standard fit? They look better than the M ones imo.

No another e-bay find, they are second hand Moon caps from America, they worked out cheaper than buying them here! not as much fun as mooching round scrapyards and Autojumbles though!
They also look better on the back wheels which are the wider van wheels they stick out a bit much on the fronts. The trim rings help to give an old style look as well I think!

Yup the MM series ones are shorter, if you see on the MM traveller photo the bonnet doesn't go all the way up to the doors at the sides whereas the series II and 1000 ones do.
