yep back again. The fact that the plate non transferable and that a minor not matter how good is really worth 35 grand all points to the conclusion that it wont seel. what do you think watson?

Just looked. There is no reserve price so it will get sold. Just hope it will not appear in a fortnight at a stupid price.

I bet if it doesn`t make what the seller wants it will be withdrawn 12hrs before the end.

Last time he wanted 40K. If it makes 5K, then I will be amazed.

Or the seller's mate puts a suitable high bid on it.....

I just spoke to the seller, and apparently they have already reclaimed the money they've spent on it hiring it out ... well his exact words are 'it owes us nothing' ... so you never know, 1AN could re-enter the minor world some day soon :D

out of curiosity..... if its a film/tv motors hire firm then really doesnt matter what the reg is - even if its a kit car etc cause for filming purposes they'd just sticka different plate on, edit engine sound etc, very unlikely it would make a profit from the number plate in that environment.
well his exact words are 'it owes us nothing'
what did they pay for it ??? has it been a tax writeoff?

Yes, odd that a film company would bother to get one with a special plate - presumably they just happened upon it and thought that they'd make a bit when the time came to sell which is reasonable enough.

I assume the non transferableness of it means that the car has been off the road for many years, never got on to the DVLA's computer and the owner had to apply to retain the original registration using historical evidence (old log book, tax discs etc) and was successful, though you only get it granted to you as a non transferable plate.

no ,the original number has been transfered and 1 an is the new no for the vehicle .new numbers are all non transferable you only get one chance to make money on one car . I bet the guy at dvla who allocated the new number1 an to the vehicle was falling about laughing.Once the vehicle is scrapped which it will be one day the number goes back into dvla pot for the same guy to have another good laugh.Funny it wasn't reallocated to a rolls or aston martin that car would have been worth a fortune for any millionaire called ian.

I can't believe that:
A: This thing is still doing the rounds.
B: Anyone would be stupid enough to spend many thousands of pounds on a registration.
C: (see B)

The listing was ended early as there was a wrong discription placed in the ad. It is backon with the same descripition but the starting bid is now £20,000.
Strange?

Why not report them to eBay for reserve fee avoidance? They clearly never had any intention of allowing it to sell for a few thousand.
