NEW MEMBER AND OWNER- LOOKING FOR A "MORRIS MENTOR" TO GET ME UP TO SPEED. I have just bought a 1969 RHD saloon, out of storage after 5 years of reclusion. I bought a few books and started reading. Got the dead mouse out of the headlining ( foul smell!) but had to make a big cut which I will now have to adress. I now will have to start inspecting in depth, make a list of what I need and try to source parts. Some will obviously have to be new like brake parts, , heater valve, inner carpets, but I hope many others could be good second hand. For that, I will need help and guidance as nearly nothing is to be found locally (Montreal, Canada). I would like to establish links with a "Morris Mentor" to help me by sharing experience, thoughts and sound advice and guide me to dependable sources in the UK. My problem is that all ads in Minor Matters look fine when you are 3 000 miles away!. And classified rarely have e-mail, only phone and location, which are of no use to me. I have owned older Birtish cars for many years and know too well how helpful a keen and knowledgeable current owner can reduce errors and mistakes. I can be reached by e-mail at paouimet@sympatico.ca. I will also try to access this site, which I am not at all familiar with for now. Thanks. Pierre

We are all your 'mentors' Pierre. Just ask your questions - there is (almost) always someone on duty!!
As ever - the big enemy is RUST (and dead mice) - so you need to very fully survey the car to see if it is an economic proposition before worrying about mechanical condition. By and large the mechanics are all cheap and easy to fix - either sourcing parts directly from UK - or from Victoria British.

Welcome aboard Pierre and as Roy has said just fire the questions and you will hopefully get the answers you need :D and also some indirect ones as our postings can go slightly of track at times
