Well tomorrow is the end of the line for 2 sad minors. I purchased both in good faith without any registration and after 2 years of asking I need the space. No one locally even wants for spares so to the dump they go.

1970 white traveller part restored (badly)

1964 Highway Yellow 2 door badly restored to look lovely 10 years ago now looking awefull. (trying to find somewhere to hide her)
:( :( :( :( :( :( :(

When I purchased the traveller, I got a ton of spares, trouble is it is easier to buy new than mess with old stuff. But without the Local Reg the car has no value. The resto done to date is really bad so has probably ruined a decent project. the up side is that I have a rollover jig for sale!!

The one in the yellow car is broken and I gave the others to club members when I first acquired all the spares. Sorry.

Well I had a really good look and the welding that has been done is really poor, the door pillars are miles out and the door is too big for the opening now.
Kept the back doors but not much else.

Was quite impressed how strong the frame was I could not chush it with the JCB!

Her final resting place

:o :o :o Who me !!!

Tend to look at it as recycling & being green etc Bill :-) Truth is if i lived south would have the range rover back on the road with a car trailer and be off saving anything going.
The woodwork on that trav looked better than on scabby !!!

One of the reasons that I purchased the job lot was that the wood was good.
On closer inspection the back pillars had had sections scarfed in and quite a lot had soft spots. So initially I was going to do a quick job but realised that everything needed sorting so as it looked fairly ok there was not much that would not need replacing. Even the stainless door tops were damaged.
I must say though that I feel a strange sensation of relief like a burden has been lifted!

Still trying to hide the Yellow one!!

offside front on the shot behind the lorry, shows it best. especially when you compare it to the back one look where the hubs are relative to the rims hub sticks out on the back one.

Can't save them all... :(

I'd love to have a large workshop and space for loads of them one day, probably never happen though.
Its a shame but at the end of the day, there's only so much you can do.

Well I must say that tonight I am really sad. I need the garage space for the new Traveller so after much advertising I finally sold my much loved 2 door for £1500.
I was pleased that a 17yr old lad (I know his dad) who is keen on classic cars purchased it.

I have just done some sums and realised that I purchased for £1450, spent £1650 on parts paint etc. and probably 150 hours work and then garaged and drove maybe 100 miles.

This has got to be some sort of illness

Cant wait to collect the Traveller!! :D
