Seatbelts, how to fit them etc

Post by youngun »

Having today witnessed what can happen in a car with no seat belts, i have decided to if possible fit them the my Mog! First off though, errrr i havent replaced the inner sill steps and dont intend to. Is there anyway i can fit seat belts without having to cut out the old inner sill steps and welding in the new reinforced ones designed for seat belts?

Thanks,
YG

Which model and what year is the car? It's usually possible to fit belts to Minors, but the exact instructions will vary.

If uou do a search for "Sophies Progress" and read though the thread you will see how I did mine. At the bottom I used a L bracket and bolted through the floor with a nice big plate underneath.

aha, a cunning solution for the top mount!

regards the bottom mount, is there any need to strengthen the inner sill step?
