More colours!

Due to my absolute disgust of clarendon grey (no offence to anyone with a clarendon grey car!!!), i have been determined to see if my car actually is supposed to be that colour or not. The serial numbr wasnt particuarly helpful, the FAJ11 states it should be "dark grey". However, i found a very useful colour chart on Minor Mania.com........and it states that Clarendon grey came onto the production line in Jan 1959, 2 years after my car was produced. So, using the chart, i now rekkon my car is supposed to be Birch grey, which preceded Clarendon. SO, has anyone got a picture of a Birch Grey Minor, or have any knowledge to prove me wrong?!!!
Oh, i also notice the minor was also available in Turquoise Between 1956 and 1959, has anyone got a pic of a Turquoise minor?

Thanks,
Detective YG

According to my Haynes restoration book, clarendon grey was used between 1952 and October 1956 on saloons and used on travellers until 1957 & LCV's until 1958.

Birch grey was used from July 1952 until January 1959 for saloons and was used on LCV's until July 1960.

What date was your car registered?

Turquoise was used between October 1956 until January 1959.

Here's a picture of the car that was for sale at the National.

Birch Grey is a very light colour - The chassis no ref Dark Grey is indeed Clarendon Grey. The Minor Mania chart has their dates wrong.

Yep, Birch Grey is very light, with an almost slightly green tinge. We have a 1958 one in the shed and you could have looked at it YG when you came to look at your car!!

I am 100% sure that your car is and has always been Clarendon Grey. I think it nicely typifies a 1950's minor but at the end of the day the choice as they say, is yours.

I'll let you borrow my book with the correct information about colours...
