Funny you should say that. The amount of trousers and shirts i've ruined probably cost as much as the parts I fitted. :o I find overalls too hot and restrictive movement as well. So oldest pair of jeans to hand and denim shirt. OK so i'm a cowboy and it shows in my work as well :D

I do have a supply of disposable coveralls they use on the oil rigs. Very light, but when you walk outside if it's windy, they inflate, and you look like the Mitchelin man :o

I have a seperate section of clothes 'for garage use only'. These days this makes up more than half my clothing
Needless to say I sometimes get carried away doing a 'quick / clean' job in my clean clothes... which normally ends up in them getting filthy.

As for overalls - (Except in mid winter) I tend to avoid extra layers as I'm already well insulated.

I have a specific set of old clothes I use for dirty jobs. Usually jeans, a cotton T shirt, Doc Marten steel toe cap boots, and if it's cold either a wooly jumper or a fleece coat.

I avoid anything nylon or polyester as it tends to burn too easily when hit with sparks.

In common with other Concours contestants I have a best pair of overall to take to shows, 8) an ordinary pair  and finally a old pair for really dirty jobs.

Ah yes the Concours overalls, with the label removed just incase it sticks out of the collar

Not being a concours entrant I tend not to bother doing jobs unless they are really dirty

But if you took out the label you would lose marks for customising

Aye, I know that one only too well .. my pile of 'garage clothes' seems to constantly expand due to me thinking "arh, this'll only take 5 minutes" :D

I have some baggy jogging bottom type shorts - useful in Summer, and in Winter they can be used over jeans for a bit more warmth. Not the most flattering attire but coupled with the 2 jumpers, big woolly socks and the woolly hat it's a co-ordinated look

Don't know if this is too provocative... I just wear a pair of shorts, and no shirt! I find it's a lot easier to clean one pair of shorts and take a few baths than accumulate many "work" clothes as I used to... :)

Roger - I was just thinking exactly the same thing, you beat me to it.

Men & their Minors - artistic shots of men tinkering with their pride and joy - with a strategically placed hub cap or dynamo (or horn push  ).

Just the thing for the 60th anniversary! I'd buy it (as long as there wasn't a beard on every page  ).

I'm not sure about this calendar business, sounds to me like the wurzels gone wrong! :o
