gap for reluctor

I am using a reluctor in my Morris Minor ignition. I forgot to check the gap between the rotor and reluctor when I took it from the donor car.
I set the gap at 0.5mm but haven't got a clue if this is correct.
Anyone using a reluctor (perhaps on a modern car)?

Cheers,

Rein

Usually about 10 thou or the signal can be a bit low amplitude, set to 15 thou will ensure anough clearance if dizzy has any wear in the shaft bearings. So just enough running clearance to ensure good signal, but not too close as you don't want a collision of the parts.

Probably me not being fully awake, but what is a "reluctor"?
