hi people, bought an anti roll bar on flea bay(gotta love it!) said it was complete, but most certainly is not. could someone please confirm where the mountings go(no destructions included). as in the ends of the anti roll bar, where do they attach...thanks!

There are quite a few different fittings at the suspension leg end. Usually
where the TIE BAR connects to the SUSPENSION ARM using specially
made up brackets and longer bolts etc. You need to find out which type
you have for more accurate advice. The Owen Burton type has the front fittings bolted through each chassis leg. The Mr Grumpy type uses
the bolts which hold the engine mount towers to the chassis. All these fittings use hefty rubber bushes.

The Birmingham/Own Burton kit should have the following:
Bar
L-plates and long bolts/nuts
4x plastic clamps
4x allen blots
2x spherical end mounts, rubber bushes + nuts.

The L-plates fit to the base of the chassis legs adjacent to the front cross member The long allen bolts run horizontally through the chassis legs (you need to drill holes through). The horizontal part of the L-plates should lie flat against the chassis legs, Not sticking out. The end mounts replace the bolt that holds the end of the tie bar.
It's easier to fit the L-plates first, then attach the end-mounts then offer up the front of the bar and clamp in place.

The 'plastic clamps' are as sold for securing steel hydraulic pipes in Industrial use. Can get them from RS Components - and probably Bearing Services (BSL).

okay, well mine seems to have two nuts on the ends of the bar. the two rubbers where it attaches to the chassis leg are there, as are two "u" clamps. each clamp has one short bolt and one longer bolt. hope this helps...

I'm not sure if anyone is interesed but i got my front sway bar out of a Dodge colt (not sure if you UK has those) from the junkyard for 19 dollars and its almost a perfect fit. I just had to make some angled brackets and welded them to inside of the frame rails. Rubber and poly bushes used. Basically a night and day difference. Definetely worth it because the kit on minimania.com is something like 280 dollars and doesnt even mount to the frame!

Any pictures of these items would be great, give those of us prepared to experiment a chance of playing!

Are the nuts on the ends of your mystery bar over an inch across with
a smaller bolt in the side to lock them to the actual roll bar?

the nuts are actually only about an inch, and do in fact look like wheel nuts. i know i've bought a bodge job...let me show you...
