Had an on/off switch for my electric washer, was a pain in the neck
Now over the moon with my new switch from Maplins - you flick it and the windscreen gets washed
Woohoo

I dont have a note of the switch number, but its identical to the switch that was fitted for the electric pump, apart from its operation... If you really need to know, I'll pop in to Maplins this week and get the number for you :)

ESM sell a good one by durite.

It has a metal shaft on the switch lever and is stronger than the plastic switches.
While you are in maplins see if they still sell intermittent wash wiper kits. They used to sell a nice variable one that also gave a couple of wipes automatically when you 'blipped' the washer switch making a quick screen nice and easy. While you are at it the twin jet washers are a nice improvement.

Unfortunately when I tried this the electric pump didn't produce enough pressure to get the water to the screen!

Oh! must admit I never thought about that. My pump came from ESM and provides enough pressure for two twin jets. Water hits about halfway up the screen and the blades push it about a bit further. Definately not as powerful as a modern car though. I did originally have a combined washer bottle and pump off a fiesta that worked ok.

You can even get push ones that are similar in appearance to the original manual pump.

I have a really good one in mine.
Its a single black button, you push it in and water squirts out.

You push it harder and water squirts out faster.

Sometimes needs a bit of 'priming' before anything comes out but it always does the job in the end. :D

the van had one of those, it was good, sadly it didn't want to part company with the dash when disassembling van for resto so had to be melted out with small blowtorch flame :(

it looks like a switch :D :D

seriously, it is the same type as fitted to the moggie, so you flick it down for wipers, and then a further action downwards for washer action and it flicks back, so is on, and then momentary
