Strange manifold from a 1275 midget engine

I have encountered problems trying to connect a large bore downpipe to the exhaust manifold which came with a 1275 midget engine. I have digital pics of the offending item which I could email to any one who has extensive knowledge in this area and would like a go at identifying.

The bottom/outlet points slightly forward unlike the manifolds shown in various spare parts web sites.

Can't claim "extensive knowledge", but I do know that the Midget pipe won't fit the Minor, as the Minor one exits the bay through the 'hole' at the side, and the Midget one doesn't.

Thanks for coming back to me.

The problem isn't to do with the exhaust itself as I have bought a large bore exhaust which is manufactured for this moggie conversion to the 1275.

The problem is that the manifold that I have inherited with the 1275 that I bought seems unusual. That's why I'm looking for an ID.

From what I have seen of the midget manifolds they do not match the angle or height of the Minor items.

The exhaust is likely intended to fit a Marina manifold rather than a Midget one. That could be it.

Yes - you need the 1275 Marina manifold which is 'big bore' and the correct angle. Midget manifold is no use. I can do you a pic tomorrow - PM me if you need it. Alternative is to use twin outlet manifold from later Mini/Metro/Ital - but then you have two clamps to fight with and need a special exhaust to match up. I assume one from Ital will do so - but whether it can be fitted on a Minor without major work I really don't know.

Thank you everyone for your replies - I'm ok in terms of fitting the large bore to the car, I've got an LCB which has fitted the lot in nicely ...... My initial question is more to do with identifying the cast iron manifold which was on the 1275 originally - it's not a marina and not a midget manifold either ...... hence my original question ........ I'm mystified ....... can email you a pic if you want to see ......

Ahh - LCB is THE way to go!

Jim, is it an inlet manifold and exhaust manifold cast into one? if so then its a Mini GT manifold!

On what grounds? The Ital, and AFAIK Marina were too, among others, I imagine

Mini manifold has same angle exhaust as Minor manifold.
