Hi, 2 issues, both relate to my 17 year olds moggy "Murphy"
1 - Seats, fitting his 6ft6inch frame behind the wheel is a bit of a squeeze. Is their a straight forwarbd mod to retain the standard seats like repositioning and drilling new holes in the floor pan?
2 - WAn ally rocker cover has been donated but fiiting it seems a tight fit at both ends. Are we just being limp wristed and should force the cover down or are their mods for stat housing and/or heater assemblies rather than file the cover to fit?

If you look towards the back where the firewall end is,Where you put the rocker cover theres a heater thing thats stops you from getting the cover on beings it bigger! just remove it 2 nuts if i remember right,and then put on the rocker cover.then put the heater back on.Hope that helps!

If you look underneath you should find there is already a pair of holes so you can mount the seat further back. They'll be full of underseal or rust so the threads will need cleaning out I expect.

Also, remember to turn off the heater before you remove the valve at the back of the head to minimise coolant loss. Don't force the rocker cover, it'll get bent and never seal properly!

I can already see the next issue of more electrical power as previous owner fitted CD/Radio so dynamo probablly challenged with amp needs. With younger generation users expecting the " Dad, would an alternator improve things " type question soon so wait for next plea for help!

A normal stereo doesn't actually use much power. I have an ammeter and I can barely see the needle move when I switch the radio on. The headlights and windscreen wipers use far more.

If you can I would stay with the Dynamo as it is probably the most reliable part on the car. If your car will spend long periods in traffic jams then you may have to go to an Alternator which is an easy mod.
