Yup my minor is Yukon grey, slightly darker than Clarendon but quite similar but it was used from 1960-62 so if you want to be original then stick with Clarendon grey.Peetee wrote:Yokon grey is similar but that's not listed so i'd plump for clarendon after all.

That would be different, but would fit with the performance mods you are planning. BRG is a nice traditional colour, so would look good, I think! BRG- hmm, much nicer than painting the car a "modern" colour which can soon look dated, IMHO.
Much better to be classic than dated! I like the idea, go for it!

Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Aren't there a lot of different shades of BRG?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Colours
Yes there are loads of shades of BRG. My 1975 Triumph Stag is British Leyland BRG and we had all sorts of trouble when we came to respray it a few years ago. Paint code is 75, but factors initially supplied Jaguar BRG paint code 74 (slightly blue tinge). Then there is Brooklands which is a slightly lighter BRG, to say nothing of Bentley BRGs and the list goes on and on....
