if you look at the pic above, there are to small self tappers - 1 each side as indicated, these were holding on a kind of screw cup,

my question is - are these there for something long gone, ie a buckle or a rubber bush ? or something someone may have added after, i`d like to know if i need to keep holes for something i may get later or mig them over, as im prepping the vehicle for paint

thanks
:)

Can't really tell from the pic, but I don't recall seeing self tappers around there on the real thing

Just went out and checked the 4 sides I can get at - nope, no sign of anything there.

the self tapper might have held on 1 half of a press stud kind of fitting from the looks of what i removed

Probably the answer, then - fittings for a tonneau cover, maybe.

That`s exactly the place that I have got two of the buckles for the canvas tilt.

Is one half of the buckle (lower ?) attached to bodywork ? looks like it could be on the Blue pick up above
