Did you come on the messageboard before you joined the MMOC?

I just wonder how many people joined as a result of visiting the messageboard.

I think you will find that a large number have joined as a result of visiting the messageboard. In fact most new members are currently joining the MMOC online :D

I have also suggested at committee that we consider putting Minor Matters online, for members only of course, and although this would not replace the printed version it would give members a choice of how they would like to receive their copy.

Members, and non members (  ) views on this would be very much appreciated.

As a member- yes a very good idea- although this would be placed in the members area and the only way to access the members area is via a usename and password printed in each copy of Matters. So how to access the on line version if the log in details are in matters yourself and you only get the on-line one?

Online magazines are now being offered by various clubs and organisations, and it is simply a case of logging into that particular choice of copy, i.e. totally seperate from the printed version.

So as not to 'hijack' Roger's original posting, I am starting a thread with the last posting here to continue the discussion.

It needs a 3rd button - for "I joined before the club even had a website"

No sorry I joined the MMOC first and discovered the web site from the mag

I've still not joined the wider club.

Having the mag online seems like such an obvious step, the only issue is going to be securing it and implementing such security. (automated bulk emailing of passwords to MMOC members perhaps?)

I will join - but its one of those mythical 'one day' promises....

Me too, but hopefully a lot of new members are joining as a result of the website, and the records do seem to support this view.

Not me. I joined the club a couple of days after buying my Minor in August 1999. Actually one of the first things I did with my Minor was to pick up my first computer capable of internet access!
