Hi,
Been looking on the internet recently at insurance firms, and one thing that jumps out from most of them are the types of morris minors they give you as a list to choose from.

For example:

Morris Minor 1098
Morris Minor DL 1098
Morris Minor Conv 1098
Morris Minor Conv DL 1098
Morris Minor Traveller Est 1098
Morris Minor Traveller DL Est 1098

Does DL stand for Deluxe? And if it does, what difference does it really make since there's not too much difference between the deluxe models is there?

Thanks :)

Didn't they stop offering the DL on the later cars?
(I have over-riders and originally had ashtrays but no duo-tone and no mention of it being a 'DL' model)

Personally I love the duotone interior and would re-trim my standard seats in it if I could afford the horrific cost of the new covers! :o

duotone seats where only between 62 - 64 i think, but the DL had leather seats and i think in the earlier models you could only get a heater with DL spec. Were windscreen washers a DL extra aswell? :-?

On the earlier cars the deluxe had:
Leather seats
Heater
Overiders
And very important, a sunvisor for the passenger!

My '71 Traveller has "D" for DeLuxe in its chassis number. No idea what its original trim was though, as it has been seriously changed over time.

Its about to get its ashtrays back, however.

Most modern cars end up with all the extras towards the end of their production run as a way to shift them before the new model arrives, so maybe it was the same with Minors? Were they all "DL" at the end?
