I use my moggy everyday and I am thinking about fitting a heated rear screen. Has anyone bought one recently and fitted it? Where do the wires come out?

The screens are available for both saloons and travellers. In both cases the wires attach at the bottom of the screen. On saloons, at the outer edges, on travellers, at each bottom corner. The glass has a standard 1/4 inch male blade fixed to it onto which you just push a standard female blade. The wiring can then be led behind the trim.

Heated front screens are also available. In these, wires come out at each bottom corner; drill a small hole in the dash and pass the wires through there.

All types well worth fitting.

Need an alternator (and deep pockets) to fit one of these.
Also - beware - fitting a rear screen on a saloon is not an easy job!

Rear screen fitting is pure nastyness itself.
Harder than any other screen I've changed in other cars.

You could get a stick-on heater?

I've got one that comes as a kit - you trim the wires to the length you want and then stick them on. It seems a good compromise.
I don't like the daft little 'grid' ones that sit in the middle of the screen but couldn't afford a proper heated one.

I don't have a picture, but can tell you, this is not a job you want to do. The heated screens are decent quality, but the fit of the new rubbers varies, and some are rubbish. The stick on elements are extremely visible, and look a little tacky on a classic (Just My Opinion).

Easy solution, clean rear window inside with alcohol followed by Autoglym Glass cleaner. Or buy a 12 volt hairdryer and sit it on the rear shelf
