Thanks. Actually they do sound very practical but I doubt I could wear one in public without being teased constantly.

What is the V - shaped pattern of 'studs' in the centre for?

Just decoration or is it there for a reason?
No doubt the more sartorially elegant chaps on the board can enlighten me

All the different styles they do have the rivets in the same place so I would guess they serve a useful purpose. Something to do with the way they fold the fabric to form the pleats?
