wheeltappers and shunters

hi everyone dont ask me why, but when i was doing my posty round this morning i the wheel tappers and shunters club going through my mind. i seem to recall it being a tv program in the early 70 up north. with a man in a flat cap ringing a bell. i was only about 6 at the time can anyone tell me about the show it just put a smile on my face whilst i was getting drenched.

thanks lou for the info it just baught back some childhood memories,you have got to think of something whilst you are delivering the post that people dont want. i grew up at an early age after my mother died,thats why i like older things ie ww2 aircraft and moggie minors etc. :lol: :lol: :lol:
