On my Land Rover I found dozens of cartridge casing and one live round

I hope you kept them as part of the car's history file. Or did you exchange the Green Shield stamps

While I was restoring my 1960 948cc recently I found what I thought was two pieces of parchment stuck behind the heater one was a copy of the Lords prayer and the other copy of the drivers prayer but they turned out to be faded paper. O bye the way its first owner was the Rev Rowlands of Pentraeth here on Anglesey, who bought the car new for £500: 17s: 6d . I am not sure if they were his answer to a breakdown manual (mobile phones not around then) I cannot rememeber how it went but it was something along the lines that O Lord I pray that we don't breakdown and that we both reach our destination. I am sure someone on her knows how it goes.

While on about the clergy I remember going to a fault on a telephone in a Catholic Priest house in Liverpool and the fault was out side, and I said to him i'm affraid the fault is in the under ground cable and that he would not be in touch with anyone nor they with him to which he smiled and said there is still one person I am in touch with, looking up at the sky so as long as we can still talk to one and other theres no need for me to worry.

Hi Kev me too although I believe they don't call them that now. I started in 1967 although I actually served my time with the North Western Gas Board (NWGB) as a in Liverpool and spent a lot of my time working in telephone exchanges and I thought to my self my god these blokes have it cushy I got to know an AE who told me to apply if I fancied it, I i spent the first 5 or 6 years going on subs apps & overhead line course's (O happy day's). and many a pint downed plus 7 years in the Para TA and my AE was trying to get me to go in the Sigs which I thought was like going to work in a uniform which as you know is just what we all ended up doing in the end. My first van was a split? screen moggy and then a handed down one from my T1 and the reg was SLO 490F green. After working in Liverpool for 10 years on faults and the coming here to Anglesey (30 years ago) it was a real culture shock
