Hello to the nice lady in the green Mog near Emsworth this morning from the funny looking bloke in the big green van. I think I got a smile but not a wave

If I'am driving in my car and I pass by another Moggie I always beep the horn, and I usually always get a beep back. Great fun on the way home from shows. What must other drivers think (not that I care).

Always get a wave from other moggy drivers but other 'classic' drivers aren't interested. :(

That was the only thing I loved about driving the beetle - everyone waved - from new golfs to campers.

I always try to either wave or beep, mostly get a wave and a smile back from other Moggy drivers - even had a guy in an MG once beep at me and smile, I was so shocked that it was my other half who returned the gesture with a wave! :o

I once had a Reliant Three wheeler  . They all used to wave at each other. And when my father had a Skoda they did as well :o

Oh that made the neck hairs stand on end Rog :o

My widowed Gran rest her soul had a gentleman friend quite some years ago who was a Robin driver (and a nutter too - even did wheelspins  )
Anyway one day somethign or other happened and he had to give myself and brother lift to school - i was getting on for 15 at the time - we spent most of the journey there tying our shoelaces so as not to be seen - but alas the old duffer insisted on dropping us RIGHT OUTSIDE THE GATES
Oh the shame of it :( funny in hindsight but not so at the time, took months for the heckling and the na na na na na na na na na na na batman cat calls so subside

classic stuff I'd almost forgot 8)

arrr the Dixie horns I think they should be compulsory on all Moggys, every time I pass kids that point and laugh I put the Dixie’s on and that changes the sniggers into cheer,

The traveller usually gets a wave or honk from the following.

Mini's (Proper Minis, not the BMW clones)
MG's of any flavour
Early Fords
Triumphs
American Barges

As for the so called up market classics, E-Types, Bentley, Rolls, I usually get an upturned nose or the 1000 yard stare.

And for some reason, most Harley Davidson bikers just love the Moggy!

Also nice to see, is classic car drivers stopping to check if they can help when another classic has broken down. I once stopped to help a Mini, which had a duff coil, and I had a spare coil (or two) in the boot. Mini owner was gob-smacked. Latest one was another traveller which the guy had only owned a few days. "It just sort of spluttered and then stopped".

One shoe whack to the fuel pump and away he went, with instructions on how to do a more permanent fix :D

I find that older (original?!) Morris owners seem to ignore me :(
Is it because they like so many old drivers, are completely oblivious to other vehicles on the road??
