hi
thinking about buying a split screen 1955 saloon
i have 3 children so seat belts will be a must
can these be fitted if so what sort of cost would there be involved and any ideas on child locks for the rear doors, can the handles be removed for instance.

I fitted inertia reel belts in the front of my 61 4 door but not the back yet.
Here is the detail of the front,
Seat Belts
For the back it is common to see the reels on the parcel shelf at the back in the middle with the other loose end next to the door. I'll try and find a photo later.

If you buy the seatbelts new from Bull Motif they are priced at roughly £25 for 1 inertia seatbelt or £15 for a static one.
Why do you need to put the seatbelts coming from the middle? They can still easily be fitted the proper way round and bolted onto the outsides of the parcel shelf, although the shelf gets thinner towards the edges there is still enough room to put the inertia reel on the outside.RogerRust wrote: For the back it is common to see the reels on the parcel shelf at the back in the middle with the other loose end next to the door. Sorry I havent got any photos but I do know of a couple of minors in the Northamptonshire branch with seatbelts from the outside inwards. So I'm going to try and fit them the same way on mine, I'll send you some pics in a few months time when I've put my minor back together!
