Ignition switch 3 or 4 terminal help

Post by southerly95 »

I have bought a new 3 terminal ignition switch to find my 65 moggy convertible has a 4 terminal version. There are two white wires one heavier than the other as well as the usual white/red and brown/blue ones. Can I still use the new switch if so how is it wired please? Thanks, John

Does the new switch have the starter function - or is it just on/off?

Strange because Haynes only shows 3 terminals, I wonder if the other terminal provides power for accessories?

Well - just check it out with a meter to see when the extra wire becomes energised! But I'm sure you will be able to use it ok.
