Oil leak into brake drum

Post by clivedackus »

Hi

Went to replace rear brakes today and while working noticed oil dripping from between the half shaft, hub shaft joint and hub assembly. Tightened up the small phillips screw. Any thoughts on this please? Is it an oil seal problem?

Car is 1964 Convertible.

Cheers

It's all held together by the wheel studs/nuts - so perhaps when you had in in bits the half-shaft was not being held tightly enough on the O ring seal.., If there was no sign of past leakage then it's unlikely to leak again now. But worth keeping an eye on it!
