Morris Minor Owners Club

We are currently looking for our first morris minor and are slowly getting to grips with what is good and bad. Can anybody tell me the deal with sill cover panels?
Some cars seem to have a larger panel which is visible when the door is closed and others have a smaller one.
Are these panels standard items or should I be wary of what may be lurking beneath?

You will have to be more specific as to which parts of the
body you mean. The term 'sill cover panel' usually refers
to a pressing which is used to cover up rust and make the
car look in better condition than it really is! If you obtain
one of the parts lists available for the Minor body parts
you will be able to identify everything. The sill area is of
course, important,but can only be properly inspected by
removing the bolted on section under the door between
the A and B pillars. (i.e. the KICK STEP PLATE and the
SILL RAIL FINISHER)

The Sill Finisher can be seen underneath the door when it is closed.
The Kick Plate is hidden by the door, and can only be seen when the door is open.

It's all held together using bolts underneath the sill, as Willie says.

It seems that I have been looking at the Sill Finisher & Kick Plate.
I did think it strange how so many genuine looking cars had these parts fitted.
