Welding Wire and Boot Lids

Post by stag36587 »

Just thinking about welding wire - what do people on here prefer -wire at 0.6mm or 0.8mm or something else?

Also, I've seen a couple of minors with bootlids that seem to stick out a bit at the sides on the lower half, when compared to the body panels around them? Are they all like that?

Normal panel work I'd suggest 0.6, Chassis work 0.8.
The boot lid fit is dependent on a few items, often the boot aperture panel has been replaced and the boot lid not used as a template, the opposite also applies here. A new boot lid seal will also kick out the boot lid ,but this should settle with time and use.
