I've knocked the green bulb cover off my indicator - but it broke, and now the bit left in the indicator stalk is on the thread and needs to really be unscrewed. Is there any way of removing the end of the indicator stalk, just to wiggle this last bit of plastic out? The other half wants to have a go at it with a pair of pliers, but I really can't see how they'll get a grip and don't want anything damaged (have removed the tiny bulb so I don't knock that off, too).

u can not seperate that bit, afraid plieres is the way, but put the pliers, long nose ones inside the green bit, open out the pliers to get a grip on what would be the inside of the green bit that is left and unscrew

i have just done mine kids broke it on my traveller the well the oldeest boy did it as they broke it he used a eleky screw driver and work out the rest of the plastic it took him a good cuple of hour well it will teach to play with daddies big toys wont it ha ha ha
try the screw driver way i went to the shop to get somthing that would be right for thejob but he got it out no problem with a screw driver

Okay, will try with the small pliers first, guess that's a little job for me tomorrow, eh?

As it turns out, while I was in the supermarket getting the shopping, the other half managed to wheedle it out with a pair of pliers, so all's well. Now I just need to rummage around in the garage for my bag full of bulb covers/reflectors/random glass bits to see if I have a spare . . .

I was moving some soil from bottom of garden the other day and found one burried !
Quick wash showed its perfect.
No idea where it's come from as I've been here 25 years and a Minor is first car I've had with such a green lens on end of stalk.
I wonder if I'll find the rest of the car if I keep digging

You need a little more faith in your other half as they seem more capable than you think

It's more the case that he can't just let me muddle through - which is nice - but I sometimes need to be left to do things on my own otherwise I have a tendency to become too reliant on other people.

I have a spare ones Judy, green or amber. Let me know if you want one and I'll drop it round next week.

No probs Andrew. It was in a little plastic box with several green ones I found on an autojumble stall. I have seen amber ones on the pressed steel type indicator stalk. Just PM me your address and I'll post it.
