One for the modifiers: Fibreglass front wing extension

Post by dp »

Can anyone suggest a suitable fibreglass wheel arch or lip that I could bond to my existing fibreglass front wings after chopping a bit of extra radius off them please?

Existing standard arch is restricting the width of the wheels I can use and their height. I was thinking of something like Mk1 Escort Mexico lips which could give a bit of extra space but not be too noticeable. If anyone has done this and give a recommendation that would be great.

Ta

Darren, we can supply either of the following Escort MK1 bubble arches f/r, mexico fronts or a universal arch set. You will need to cut and shut the arches as they are quite different from the Minor ones, not too dificult. If you can wait till Xmas we should have a set of glass wings modded with the flare, otherwise the panels are available for DIY. :D

Thanks Jonathon, What sort of tyre sizes would the Mexico front flares allow? I'm on Peugeot 15" speedlines.

If I'm allowed to ask on the forum, how much would the flared front wings be? (if not, please PM or e-mail me)

It will be best to fit the arches then under cut them once the bonding had dried. Your 15's would fit in easily as the arch will be extended between 11/2" to 32 depending on which arch you choose.
Need to PM you regarding wings.
